Cheese with PDO
An aged Galician cheese famous for being shaped like a cannonball, and for its smooth smoked birch wood aroma. Awarded “Best Cheese of Spain” at the Ministry of Agriculture Official Competition in 2009.
HISTORY
The Terra Cha or “flat land” is the region of northern Galicia, in the province of Lugo, which extends from the gentle hills of Villalba to the Atlantic coast. Possibly the best area of pasture and cow's milk in Galicia, where these pressed cheeses were historically smoked gently to improve their aging and conservation process. With DOP since 2005. This cheese was awarded "Best Cheese of Spain" in the year 2009.
TASTING NOTES
Cheese with a compact but supple texture and a mild flavor with caramelized notes and a smoky aroma, perfect to pair with farmhouse breads and with white wines fermented or aged in wineskins.
