La Finca de Uga is an oasis in the middle of the volcanic and desert island of Lanzarote (Canary Islands) where several cheeses are made in a traditional dairies, such as this goat and ewe’s Bodega cheese.
HISTORY

The island of Lanzarote, at the eastern end of the Canary Islands, is the closest to Africa and has a volcanic landscape.  In the middle of the island, in a desert formed by dark lava, you will find Finca de Uga,: an agricultural and livestock oasis. A model farm where 300 Majoreras goats, 300 Canarian sheep and 20 cows of Jersey breed are milked, and with their milk an endless number of cheeses are produced in small volumes.  Like this goat and ewe’s Bodega cheese ripened in volcanic caves.

TASTING NOTES

Cheese with a powerful but elegant flavor, very oily on the palate, with aromas of caramel and milky coffee, and with a crumbly texture. It marries very well with all kinds of young wines, both red and white, and fortified wines with a high alcohol content.
